Her passion for childcare led her to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Development, deepening her expertise in fostering the growth and development of young minds.

After 14 years in the industry and gaining a comprehensive understanding of the placement process from both families' and nannies' perspectives, Nannies by Natalie was founded. This venture showcases her genuine passion for children and her commitment to delivering personalized childcare services. Our nannies are passionate about childcare and possess the ideal demeanor for private family settings. Our extensive evaluation and interview process aims to highlight nannies who exemplify the highest standards and embody the core values of the agency.   • Hourly rates in the greater Seattle area vary widely depending on factors such as education, professional experience, specialized skills, proficiency in additional languages and the level of responsibility associated with each position. Given the high caliber of candidates we represent, typical hourly rates range from $30 to $35 or more.

  • Initiation fee to begin your search: $300 (one-time, non-refundable):

    • Live-out Placement (long-term): 12% of nanny's gross annual compensation

    • Live-in Placement (long-term): 15% of nanny's gross annual compensation

    • Temporary Hires (1-3 months): 15% of nanny's gross earnings for the employment period

    • Newborn Care: 20% of NCS's gross earnings for the duration of employmen

  • At Nannies by Natalie, we're dedicated to securing your long-term solution. Should the need arise, we can assist you in exploring backup care options as necessary

  • Even in an ideal placement, unforeseen circumstances can occur. Our 120-day replacement policy for long term hires ensures your peace of mind during such situations. Should you need to terminate employment or if the nanny resigns, we are committed to finding a suitable replacement candidate to meet your needs.

    For temporary hires, our replacement policy applies for a duration equivalent to one-third of the contract length.

  • Being a native of Seattle and having worked in childcare services for the past 14 years, we regularly receive referrals for skilled nannies through word of mouth, industry networking, and established community connections. As many complete their contracts and seek new opportunities, others are found via reputable industry resources and job boards. Regardless of where we encounter candidates, each undergoes our rigorous recruitment and evaluation process without exception.

  • In addition to completing our 5-step vetting process, we leverage industry and community connections, as well as public social media accounts.

  • Hiring a nanny usually takes around 2 to 6 weeks. This timeline involves assessing the family's specific requirements, networking, and conducting comprehensive candidate screenings.

  • The IRS categorizes a nanny as a household employee rather than an independent contractor. The nanny is your employee. As the employer, it is your responsibility to pay the nanny directly, manage all taxes and withholdings for the nanny. Our service is not involved in any portion of the nanny's earnings.

  • When families hire a nanny, they are responsible for all applicable taxes, withholdings, and reporting. This includes taxes withheld from the nanny's pay and employer-paid taxes.

    Accurate tax reporting benefits both parties, with employers potentially eligible for tax breaks to reduce tax expenses. Nannies also gain access to critical short and long-term state benefits. It's a mutually beneficial arrangement!

    Nanny Payroll and Tax Services

  • While not mandatory, it's becoming more common for families to provide a vehicle for their nannies to perform work related tasks. If a nanny uses their personal vehicle for work-related duties, families are required to reimburse them at the IRS mileage rate for 2024, which is 67 cents per mile.

  • While not mandatory, it is common industry practice for families to provide their nanny with a credit card.

  • We'll clarify the legal requirements versus industry standards during your consultation call, helping you design a compensation package that attracts top talent and fits your budget. Typically, nannies seek 2 weeks of paid annual vacation, 1 week of sick/personal days, major federal holidays, travel/overnight stipends and healthcare stipends. Discuss with us the option of tax-free healthcare reimbursement, it's a valuable recruiting and retainment benefit.
